Tom Evans Biography
Tom Evans has been employed with the Knoxville Police Department since 1996 and has assisted in the investigation of numerous cases involving child pornography, juvenile crime, and processed numerous major crime scenes as a K.P.D. Senior Evidence Technician assigned to the K.P.D. Criminalistics Unit. Tom is currently assigned to the "Internet Crime Against Children Task Force" at the Knoxville Police Department as a Senior Evidence Technician. He has participated in numerous search warrants while being assigned to the "Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force".
Tom has attended the following training schools: 1999 Protecting Children On-line provided by Fox Valley Technical College, Criminal Justice Department, Appleton WI. 2000 Advanced Protecting Children On-line provided by Fox Valley Technical College, Criminal Justice Department, 2000 "SEARCH" Training directed toward on-line investigation, tracking and data recovery, 2000 40 hour course in the National White Collar Crime Data Recovery and Analysis, 2000 40 hour Internship with the Dallas Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and a 40 hour internship with the Maryland State Police in October 2000 focusing on forensic software used in recovering computer based evidence.
Tom's current assignment deals with the forensic examinations of computer's, and pro-active, undercover, on-line investigations. He also trains law enforcement and community members about online investigation and safety techniques.
