In May 1992: Chris Line began his career with the Knoxville Police Department where he served as a Patrol Officer and Field Training Officer (FTO).
In April 2000: Line was transferred to the Criminal Investigative Division (CID) and was assigned to the Juvenile Unit; where he served as the Departments Lead Child Sex Abuse Investigator.
In June 2004: Line became the Departments Serious Habitual Offender Comprehensive Action Plan (SHOCAP) Coordinator and continues to serve in that capacity.
In December 2005: Line was transferred to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC); where he serves as an Online Investigator, CyberTip Manager and Training / Presentation Coordinator.
From October 2000 to December 2005: Line instructed a P.O.S.T. Certified Child Sex and Physical Abuse block of instruction for the Knoxville Police Department Training Academy.
Line has served two terms on the Knoxville Police Departments Employees Task Force, one term on Mayors Police Advisory Board and four terms on the Departments Sex Offender Task Force.
