THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF STRIKE FORCE IS TO PROTECT CHILDREN ONLINE.

We will achieve this goal with innovative preventative measures and very aggressive investigations. The law enforcement community has marshaled its resources to develop methods for identifying, apprehending and successfully prosecuting sex offenders who use the Internet to exploit children.

Formation of Strike Force
The highly technical crime of online child pornography and child exploitation has exploded with the birth of the Internet. Child predators have the ability to roam the Internet searching for potential victims.

Through a grant from the Department of Justice and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the Knoxville Police Department formed the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, also known as Strike Force, in January 2000.
